Note: 1. The price doesn’t include motorcycle (BMW road motorcycle) rental fee which is 5RMB/km, distance of the whole trip is about 2200km. Clients can pay the motor rental fee directly to the rental agency after the trip according to the actual mileage. Fuel cost is at clients’ own expense.

2. Please book at least 2 months before departure, so that we can have time to get temporary driving license for clients.

3. Our price is valid in the whole year of 2014 except during New Year Holiday, Chinese Spring Festival Holiday (falls in Jan-Feb), Water Splashing Festival Holiday (falls in Apr), Labour Day Holiday, National Day Holiday (Oct. 1-7). May-Sep. is the rainy season of Yunnan, weather of those time is not suitable for this driving tour.

 

Payment should be finished four weeks before the arrival of the group.

Cancellation: You may cancel your confirmed booking, but this must be in written letter (email or fax). But if cancellation occurs after your confirmation to book the tour, or if you fail to pay the full cost of the tour within the specified time, you will be liable to pay cancellation charges.

Cancellation charges are as follows:

  • No less than 30 days before arrival: $150 per person
  • 30 to 15 days before arrival: $300 per person
  • 14 to 7 days before arrival: 60% of the full payment per person
  • 6 to 0 days before arrival: 100% of the full payment per person

 Traveler substitutions are considered reservation cancellations and are subject to the above cancellation fees. After the trip has commenced, we are unable to refund any amount for unused services due to your early departure, late arrival, or missed days on tours.

Refunding: If you have paid for the tour but then have to cancel it more than 15 days before the start of your tour, we will refund all the payment except the deposit ($300 per person). If cancellation has to be made within 15 days, we will charge some cancellation penalty as well as the deposit, according to how much we have to pay to our suppliers. We will try our best to decrease your loss because we know it's not your purpose to cancel it.

Day1 Arrive in Jinghong (Dai ethnic area) D
Arrive in Jinghong from Kunming by air, your guide will be at the airport to welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After a short rest, your guide will take you to rent motorbike.

Day2 Jinghong – Pu’er (Hani ethnic area) B/L/D
Drive motorcycle to visit Ganlanba in the morning: local market, Burmese Temple, rubber plantation garden and Dai ethnic villages. After lunch, drive about 156km/4 hrs to Pu’er. After arrival, check in hotel for rest.

Day3 Pu’er – Mojiang B/L/D
After breakfast at hotel, drive about 224km/5 hrs to Mojiang. After arrival, check in hotel.

Day4 Mojiang – Kunming B/L/D
Today drive about 246km/6 hrs to Kunming via Yuxi. After arrival, check in hotel and then have a stroll on the old street of Kunming and Bird & Flower Market.

Day5 Excursion to Stone Forest (Yi ethnic area) B/L/D
This morning, visit Stone Forest, 80 ha. site of fantastic limestone formations created during the Permian Era when the sea covered this area. Shilin is on the World Heritage List and managed by the traditional owners the Yi people. It is famous in China and unique in the world. We will to visit the Stone Forest for 2.5 hours. Today’s lunch is Yunnan local flavour Yiliang Roast Duck. Return to Kunming.

Day6 Kunming – Chuxiong (Yi ethnic area) B/L/D
Drive about 159km/4 hrs to Chuxiong via Lufeng and visit Lufeng Dinosaur Fossil Museum. After arrival at Chuxiong, check in hotel for rest.

Day7 Chuxiong – Dali (Bai ethnic area) B/L/D
Today, drive on to Dali via Xiangyun (about 192km/4.5 hrs). After arrival, have a stroll in Dali Old Town. The history of Dali Old Town can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty when Dali was the capital of Nanzhao Kingdom which is the home to Bai minority. The town, whose format is like a chess board with four gates guarding in the directions of east , south, west and north stands between Cangshan Mountains and Erhai Lake, a natural configuration that seems specially designed for a good bountiful life.

Day8 Dali – Lijiang (Naxi ethnic area) B/L/D
After breakfast visit morning market in Xizhou Bai village and Zhoucheng village for the Bai traditional batik Tie-dye family workshop, then drive about 180km/4 hrs to Lijiang, walking in Lijiang Old Town, a lovely traditional town with beautiful wooden houses and crisscrossed with streams of mountain water. Lijiang is one of the best preserved ancient towns in China and is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Day9 Lijiang B/L/D
In the morning take a visit to Baisha Naxi Village. Baisha (White Sand) is located in the north of Lijiang. It is named this because of the large amount of white sand on the earths surface there. According to history Baisha is the earliest place for the settlement of Naxi nationality after they entered Lijiang basin. Then visit Shuhe Old Town. Shuhe, also "Shaowu" in Naxi language, means "the village at the foot of the high hill". In the past, there behind the village was a high hill named Jubao Hill, so people named the village after the hill. Generation after generation, the village gets its present name. The Ancient Town of Shuhe is located 4 kilometers to the northwest of the Ancient City of Lijiang. Its central part covers an area of about 5 square kilometers. In 1997, the Ancient Town of Shuhe was ranked as an important part of the Ancient City of Lijiang. This afternoon is free for your leisure. (Optional tour: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang city or Tiger Leaping Gorge, 88km away from Lijiang)

Day10 Lijiang – Dali B/L/D
Drive via Jianchuan and Eryuan to Dali (198km/5 hrs). Visit Shibao Mounatin in Jianchuan. The Shibaoshan rock carvings are over 1300 years old and evidence of the spread of Mahayana Buddhism into Yunnan from Tibet. Representations of the bodhisattva Guanyin and other Buddhist images are carved into the rocky mountainside. And visit fishing villages around Erhai Lake in Eryuan. Erhai Lake is the second largest highland lake next to Dianchi. The lake covers an area of 250 square kilometers and is located about two kilometers east of Dali. It is like a crescent lying between Cangshan and Dali city as seen from Cangshan Mount. In a sunny day, the crystal waters of Erhai Lake and the snow mantled Cangshan Mount radiate with each other. Thus the scene was commonly described as "Silver Cangshan mountain and Jade Erhai lake".

Day11 Dali – Lincang B/L/D
After breakfast, drive 266km/6 hrs via Yunxian to Lincang. After arrival, check in hotel for rest.

Day12 Lincang – Lancang (Lahu ethnic area) B/L/D
After breakfast, drive 247km/5.5 hrs via Shuangjiang to Lancang. After arrival, check in hotel for rest.

Day13 Lancang – Jinghong B/L/D
This morning drive 177km/3.5 hrs via Menghai to Jinghong. After arrival, have lunch and then tour Mengle Great Buddha Temple was built to memorize a beautiful Dai Minority queen who was a pious Buddhist during Ming dynasty (1368-1644), which was destroyed during a war in 1848 and what we see today was rebuilt in 2007. Notable for its peculiar shape which resembles a sitting Buddha, Mengle Great Buddha Temple, the largest Theravada Buddhist temple in China, is the most sacred and important religion site of Dai people.
